Symbolic Tree: “Supannikar” flowering tree (Fai Kham) (Yellow Cotton Tree or Silk Cotton Tree) January 15, 1999 was an auspicious day in the history of Ramkhamhaeng in that it was on that day that Her Royal Highness, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, graciously conferred upon Ramkhamhaeng University this most beautiful and meaningful symbol -- the Supannikar" fowering tree (Local Northern name: Fai Kham). And it is to Her Royal Highness. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, that we at Ramkhamhaeng owe an eternal debt of gratitude for choosing such an exquisite -- and at the same time apt -- symbol, one that we will cherish in our hearts and minds forever.
